Fellow racers....
How's cabin fever going? I know I am going crazy shoveling this glob al warming
off my driveway every day. I can't wait for spring to get here, and with the
warm weather guess what ?? It's time to RACE !!
Ok so, seems that the month of February everyone and their sister is having a
meeting at the North Ridgeville Library. So the first available date is Monday
March 1st from 6:30 to 8:00 pm in the same meeting room at the same location.
Please check the web site for detail information to how to get there.
We are going to cover possibly the following agenda:
·
Practice and Race days selection.
If anyone has a large page paper calendar that they can bring, we can all look
at the actual dates and see what days are good for practices and race, so that
we can forward that information to the corresponding hosting clubs, so that they
can review it and see if does not interfere with other club events.
·
Race course supply and equipment.
Comes practice day, we are in needs of several items: Starter flag, Pylon #2
flags, PVC Pylon construction, Lap Counters, Walkie Talkies, Scale, Blow Horn,
Air Horn (for Suburban Field only), Plane recognition material, office supply,
perhaps an inkjet color printer for our laptop, just to name a few. If any
of you have access to those items or wants to volunteer in assembly and or
finding the material necessary to get our list completed, please step forward
and let me know. I definitely can use the help.
·
Formal Introduction of our Club 40 Treasurer.
Mr.Showers , without any choice on his part, is going to be our Club40
Treasurer. We are going to set up a bank account dedicated to Club40 use only,
and I am working on setting up a page on our web site, so that we can make
payments, Planes, Engine, Fuel, Membership etc.... with a direct Paypal link,
which should streamline the registration process in the following weeks.
·
Final Fund Collection for Planes Trains and automobiles..... Hehehe Kidding
aside, March 1st is the deadline for taking advantage of the price reduction
offered with our mass discount for Planes and Engine. After that, if you decide
to purchase those item, you have to directly do that yourself, and the links are
provided on the web sites for your convenience. For Fuelinstead,
we will be collecting the first round of payments. If you are not able to make
the meeting, a Paypal link on our website will be provided to make payment
directly online to our Club40 treasurer.
·
ARF Building Troubleshooting, and set up. We
should be well underway with our ARF build project. If any of you feel like
bringing your finish model to the meeting, we can all getting it dirty with
drool, and we can all share our building tips and techniques. Also for those of
you that are more experienced flyers, please take few minutes to share with the
rest of us, some set up tip and idea to make a novice experience more
enjoyable.
·
Area Club Representative selection.
At the last meeting was decided that a representative from each area club be
designated as an "official" club contact in case of last minute event changes
and cancellation. Please review the list on our web site for registered pilots.
Few more are going to be included in the next few weeks or so, but just get
familiar with the members list coming from your club so that among yourself can
come up with a name to put in our official contact list.
·
Contest Director volunteer.
As decided at the last meeting, Mr. Bob Brassell is going to be our Contest
Director. However would be fantastic if anyone would also like to full fill that
most important position, in case Bob can't make an event (I hope not) or needs a
most needed break. If you intend to do so, please step forward or voice your
intention via e-mail, so that Bob can go over with you with the necessary steps
on becoming one.
Looks like a busy agenda and I hope we will be able to cover all the topics.
As always a copy of this e-mail is going to be posted on our web site under
"News".
See you at the next meeting , if not sooner....
Take care
