Location of Crawford Field
| The Lorain County RC Club Flying Field (Crawford Field) is located
at 9033 Murry Ridge Road, Elyria, Ohio. The field is on the east side of Murray Ridge, set
well back from the road. The easiest access to the field is from Route 113. (Milan-Elyria
Rd.) At the intersection of 113 and Murry Ridge, turn south and proceed 1.5 miles to 9033
Murray Ridge. Turn left into drive. Follow drive .4 miles back to Crawford Field. Click here for Google map |
| Or, to reach the field from the south, take Route 10 to Route 301.
Exit 301 onto Lagrange Road. Proceed north on Lagrange to Russia Road. Turn left onto
Russia and procced west to Murray Ridge Road. Turn right onto Murray Ridge and proceed
north to 9033. Turn right into field entrance. |
| Monthly meetings are held on the first Sunday of each month at 1:30pm. In the summer, the meetings are held at the flying field. During inclement weather, the meeting is held at the Nordson Depot, 671 Franklin Avenue, Amherst. (see map below) There is a raffle at each meeting and usually a choice of 3 R/C items, usually a variety of kits. However, an engine or battery charger or some other accessory is sometimes raffled.
