On July 6, 2001, a strange flying machine was spotted at the LCRC flying field. This unusual
object made several passes over the field and then began a series of maneuvers. It
amazed all who watched, women fainted, children screamed, men shouted.
WHAT IS IT??? It is the latest creation from the underground shop of Bill Riley. The airframe consists of some 1 inch thick foam insulation cut into a delta shape. Powered with a .40 FP and controlled by a Futaba AM radio, this plane was built out of stuff lying around the shop. Flies fairly well as long as the engine is running.
