CELEBRATING

Practice flying begins at 10 am.

  • Practice flying is intended for visiting pilots and members who may have to confirm last minute configuration set ups.
  • First time visiting pilots must have a basic aircraft inspection (by an event organizer) of all models. Proper flight control deflection, and a GVI (General Visual Inspection) for obvious defects. Then complete a successful take off, show competent control of the aircraft in flight and land the aircraft without serios incident before a Lorain County RC Club member during practice flying to participate.
  • Having an FAA TRUST card will ease this process but is not required.
  • The Lorain County RC Club, Inc. reserves the right to revoke the flight privileges of any pilot from participation at any time if lack of aircraft control becomes apparent and a problem.
  • If you experience any technical or mechanical issues you shall retire said aircraft until the situation is resolved. Short of prop strikes, event organizers must be informed of the issue(s) and accept the aircraft's return to the event.
  • You are expected to have your aircraft properly configured. Other specifics are listed below:
  • Glow/gas/turbine engines already tuned/run-in or only needing minor adjustment for weather conditions before the event.
  • Prolonged running or tuning of glow/gas/turbine engines shall be performed in designated areas only.
  • Event organizers will direct you to a specified run up area the day of the event if prolonged tuning is required.
  • Running in a new/rebuilt/overhauled engine should be performed before the event.
  • In the event you do need to run in a engine it shall be done between 8:30 and 9:30 AM the day of the event in the designated run up area.
