The Lorain County R/C Club, Inc. is proud to announce the return of Model Mania.

The 2024 Model Mania will be announced once planning is completed in February/March of 2024.

The 2023 Model Mania event is shown below for reference only.

(Update 08/7/23 - 1200 ft AGL / 1/4 mile radius NOTAM filed with the FAA, waiver certificate from AMA pending)

• Event officially kicks off at 10 AM with flag raising ceremony.
• National Anthem and other musical selection(s).
• Music, different flying events and various types of aircraft groups take to the skies.
• Charging for electric aircraft will be available.
• Airspace will be "controlled" but still intended to be a relaxed experience.
• Pilot meeting at 9:00 AM with field open to general flying immediately after.
• All planes shall be on the ground from 9:50 AM until completion of flag raising ceremony.
• After flag raising ceremony at 10, field will re-open to general flying until the noon hour.

 - Themed grouped flying will accompany general flying if requested by the pilot group.

• At or about the noon hour exhibition style flying will be opened up with segments of themed/general flying interspersed*, warbirds, large scale, EDF's (jets with electric fans for you in the general public) and so on.

* Participants from the morning general flying are welcome and encouraged to join in.

• As long as pilots want to fly the field will be open.
• AMA sanctioned event - AMA Safety Guidelines shall be observed by all pilots participating.
• Outside fliers (non club members) - Current AMA membership holders are invited and welcome to participate.
• Hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, and pop will be for sale to benefit the club to the general public.
• Club Members, Pilots (non club members) and Volunteers eat for free.
• 50/50 raffle(s).
• Club Membership raffle (dependent on current or obtaining AMA membership).
• Other raffle(s) may be announced day of the event.
• Donations to benefit the club or our ongoing efforts with the Elyria High School STEAM program will be accepted, please specify at your time of donation or place in the correct container the day of the event.
